Preparing for your appointment
February 10, 2022
Once your family physician or the referring physician submits to us the request for a referral, we will reach out and contact patients to arrange for your appointment. We will frequently recommend reviewing your symptoms and making some brief notes to discuss when you arrive in the office or virtually. This usually helps with determining the potential causes of your symptoms and also what we might be able to do to help.
We would also suggest these points to prepare for your appointment:
1. We recommend stopping all antihistamines at least 4 days before your appointment; this will allow you to have your testing completed.
2. Avoidance of any tricyclic antidepressant (eg. Elavil or amitriptyline) for at least 1 week before your appointment will also allow for proper review of your testing. This applies only to this class or group of antidepressants.
3. Bring a list of your current medications for our review.
4. If instructed through a prior discussion with our office, please bring in the specific items requested for your testing.
